How is a centrifuge maintained?

Release Time: 2023-02-28

The maintenance methods for centrifuges are similar, regardless of whether they are low-speed, high-speed, or refrigerated. Improper use or lack of regular maintenance can cause centrifuge malfunctions, affecting its use. Therefore, regular maintenance is necessary for normal operation.
  I. Centrifuge Maintenance
  (1) Before using the centrifuge
The centrifuge must be placed on a sturdy, stable surface. The four rubber feet of the base must be firmly attached to the surface to prevent vibration during operation. Do not place other items on the centrifuge surface to prevent scratches.
  (2) Regular inspection of the centrifuge
Check the centrifuge sleeve. Any foreign objects, dirt, or detached rubber pads inside the sleeve should be immediately addressed to maintain centrifuge balance. Check the rotor for corrosion spots, dents, or small cracks. If found, stop using the rotor and contact the manufacturer. Regularly maintain and clean the rotor. To prevent damage to the surface oxidation layer, use a detergent-dampened sponge or cloth to clean the rotor. Rinse with distilled water or wipe with 70% alcohol. After cleaning, invert and air dry.
In addition, the normal service life of rotors and buckets is 5 years (3 years for angle rotors). Contact the manufacturer to replace them immediately after expiration. Check the commutator and brushes for wear and tear. Remove carbon dust from the commutator surface to extend the life of the brushes. Replace damaged components such as brushes and springs promptly to ensure the centrifuge is in good condition.
  (3) Regular calibration of the centrifuge:
Calibrate the centrifuge speed using a tachometer. Securely attach the tachometer to the metal casing of the centrifuge. Do not open the cover to measure the centrifuge speed. Use a reflective foil attached to the bottom of the centrifuge motor rotor for measurement. The centrifuge speed's...
